One installer covers both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs. The DMG auto-detects your Mac's architecture.
Not sure which one? Click the Apple menu → About This Mac. If it says "Apple Silicon" or shows an "M" chip, use the Apple Silicon build.
Standard macOS install. Drag the app icon onto the Applications shortcut inside the DMG, then eject the DMG.
The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized, so a normal double-click should just work. If macOS still prompts because of an OS-level setting, right-click the app → Open → confirm.
The activation window asks for the license key Paddle emailed you after purchase. Paste it, give your Mac a friendly label ("John's MacBook Pro"), and click Activate. Activation requires an internet connection; daily use does not.

The welcome modal walks you through three things: your music folder, an optional AI provider key (Anthropic / OpenAI / Google / local Ollama), and a kickoff library scan that runs in the background while you start using the app.
If you want to import playlists from Spotify, YouTube Music, Tidal, SoundCloud, Deezer, or Beatport, head to Settings → Streaming Credentials, paste your free OAuth client ID and secret for that service, and use the Streaming page to connect. The app uses your own developer credentials, not a shared key.

The app checks for updates on launch (you can disable this in Settings → General). When a new version is available you'll see a notification with a "Restart and update" button. Updates download in the background.
Your purchase includes 12 months of feature updates. After that, your version keeps working. New feature updates after year one require the optional Updates Plan ($29/yr).
